Batch Processing

Students who are applying for UK visas from the United States are invited to participate in Batch Processing. Batch Processing means that you will still complete the online visa application and enroll your biometrics on your own, but then will submit your physical application, passport, and supporting documentation to OGS. OGS will then review your application and take it to the Consulate on your behalf.

Batch Processing is not required, but should make the process simpler for you. In order to participate in Batch Processing, students must:

  • Be applying for their visa from the United States;
  • Be able to submit their physical passport to OGS/the British Consulate for a period of up to 4 weeks beyond the student’s selected Batch Processing deadline (deadlines are November 10th and November 29th)

If you are eligible and interested in participating in Batch Processing, please register your interest via this form. OGS will then send you additional information in the next few days about the process including important dates, documents to submit, and the process as a whole.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact Aaron Reynolds (aaron.reynolds@nyu.edu) at OGS.

If you do not participate in Batch Processing, you will need to complete the process individually. The main difference is that from the United States you would mail everything to the Consulate in New York rather than mailing it to or dropping it off at OGS. If you are traveling to the UK under the Short-term Student Entry category (no visa) then you do not need to complete this process.
