A reminder that immigration support letters are sent by email from the Office of Global Services. In order to receive an immigration support letter, you must first have completed the Determine Your UK Immigration Status form. Timelines for receiving support letters and additional requirements are included below:
Tier 4: Students who are applying for Tier 4 visas receive their letters on a rolling basis. NYU London must first assign you a Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number through the British government (this is not an immediate process). Apart from the Determine Your UK Immigration Status form, OGS must also have received a copy of your passport as well as a copy of your IELTS (English language) scores if applicable.
Short-term Student Visa: Students who are applying for the Short-term Student visa receive their support letters directly from OGS. These letters are generally sent within a few business days of receiving both your Determine Your UK Immigration Status form and a copy of your passport.
Short-term Student Entry: Students who are traveling to the UK via the Short-term Student entry category (i.e. without the need to apply for a visa in advance of travel) will receive their support letters by email from OGS in mid-December. Students will need to submit the Determine Your UK Immigration Status form and a copy of their passport before then.
